Cookie Policy
Last updated: 16 September 2026
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on Robertson Connect, and how you can control them.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We also use similar browser storage (localStorage) to remember your preferences.
2. Your choices
We only place non-essential cookies after you have given consent, as required by POPIA. When you first visit the site you can choose "Accept all" or "Reject non-essential". You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
3. Cookies by category
Necessary (always on)
Required for the site to function — signing in and keeping your session, security, and remembering your cookie choice itself. These are set by Robertson Connect and cannot be switched off.
- Supabase authentication session — keeps you signed in.
- cookie_consent — stores your cookie preferences.
Analytics (optional — off unless you accept)
Google Analytics 4, provided by Google. Used to understand how many people visit, which pages they view, and how they navigate the site, so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_* which typically last up to 2 years. IP addresses are handled by Google and data may be processed outside South Africa.
The Google Analytics script is not loaded at all unless you accept analytics cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Marketing (optional — off unless you accept)
Meta (Facebook) Pixel, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. Used to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook advertising and to understand actions visitors take on the site after seeing our adverts. The pixel may set cookies such as _fbp and record that you visited our site; data may be processed outside South Africa.
The Meta Pixel is not loaded at all unless you accept marketing cookies. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as signing in, from working.
